Distribution Centre for Retail Client

At the time of build, this RDC was the largest facility of it’s kind in the world with a total pallet capacity of 270,000.

The site was installed with 400W SON High Bays throughout the warehouse space, which offered a poor orange light at around an average of 150 lux. The LED replacement project pitted two of the major LED manufacturers against one another to ascertain, reliability, durability, cost savings and lifespan of the products.

Glatfelter Paper Mill

Following extensive trials of a number of leading LED manufacturers, the management at Glatfelter selected the Dialight LED High Bays to light up their Machine Halls and replace the aging 400W SON High Bay fittings. Apart from the poor light quality of the existing fittings, maintenance access to replace light bulbs and carry out routine. Dialight LED High Bays deployed in the most hostile of industrial environments, help to reduce energy costs and improve the working environment for this global leader in speciality papers.

Bristol Port Company

Bristol Port Company approached Ocip Energy Ltd to request assistance and advice in designing the lighting at their new biomass storage facility at Avonmouth.

Workshop Case Study

Bristol Port Company operates across both Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Dock on a 2600 acre site.

In selecting Dialight LED High Bay lighting for their main vehicle workshop, the Bristol Port Company has taken the first steps of converting obsolete lighting fittings to the latest high efficiency technology in an extreme working environment.

Waste Transfer Study

The NEC is the UK’s premier exhibition centre, occupying a 610 acre site in Birmingham.

The recent upgrade to Dialight LED High Bay lighting at the National Exhibition Centre’s Waste Pre- Treatment Centre (WPTC), has seen a dramatic improvement in the light quality and has offered significant energy and carbon savings to the NEC Group.

ATEX Case Study

A chemical manufacturing company sought to improve the lighting within its Wollaston site.

The key objectives were to find suitable low maintenance light fixtures that were certified for use in the hazardous environment, that could improve the quality of the lighting, that were reliable, durable and available in both standard and emergency mode, and could achieve energy savings.

Food Production Case Study

Peck & Strong have a 50kw Photovoltaic installation on their roof and they reduce their carbon emissions in every way they can. The remaining carbon footprint they offset through ClimateCare. The company moved into a large purpose-developed facility in 2009 and found their lighting represented a large power consumption. Given their committed environmental ethos, the conversion to LED was a natural step.

Tunnel Case Study

Ocip Energy were contacted by CWML, who were looking to reduce the lighting costs, the maintenance costs but also improve the quality of lighting in a number of high usage areas. CWML were influenced by the success of the Ocip Energy project at Excel Exhibition Centre and the use of the LED High Bays.

Industrial Case Study

The Fletcher Moorland site consists of a number of different work environments, from offices and workshops to training rooms and stores. Ocip Energy undertook a full survey of the site, and presented the findings to the management of Fletcher Moorland. Lighting designs were submitted and approved and a mixture of Dialight fittings were ordered using the Carbon Trust Siemens Finance package. Ocip Energy were able to assist with this application and funds were made available in a very short space of time.

Cold Store Case Study

This cold storage depot in the north of Scotland required a lighting solution to reduce the maintenance and running costs being incurred due to the continuous operation of the depot. The client had researched the market through a local electrical specialist was introduced to the Dialight product range through Ocip Energy Limited. Once they had trialled a single 150W LED High Bay, the client was immediately interested in exploring a deployment in the entire cold storage unit.

Warehouse Case Study

ABC Racking specialises in heavy duty pallet racking systems. Operating from a massive 100,000 square foot warehouse in Aston, Birmingham. The company approached Ocip Energy looking to reduce the lighting costs within their warehouse and to improve the lighting for their staff. ABC Racking had experimented with a number of Far Eastern LED products, but were not satisfied with the quality and warranty being offered and were keen to deal with a UK based company who could discuss their requirements.

Retail Case Study

Brown's London are the leading florists located in Canary Wharf, with a prominent position within Canada Place. The company approached Ocip Energy with a remit to reduce the energy costs from the lighting fixtures, used to illuminate the floral displays and products. The existing lights used 50 watts of energy per fitting.

ExCeL Exhibition Centre, London

In January 2010 Ocip Energy Ltd approached the ExCeL London management team with a view to utilising LED lighting products to both reduce energy consumption and started investigating to see how they could improve their lighting in order to achieve uniformity throughout the central boulevard of the exhibition and conference centre. The solution that ExCeL chose for this critical space not only improved the light quality, but reduced operating and maintenance costs while also improving energy efficiency.
